Bread Recipes

We had a wonderful breadmaking class this week, taught by Wendy D. She makes it look so easy! Thank you, Wendy for sharing with us!


Here are Wendy's recipes... 
 
Whole Wheat Bread Recipe (2-loaf variety for Kitchen Aid Mixer )   
Recipe from Karol Smith
 
Combine the following ingredients:
3 cups flour
1 TB yeast
1 TB wheat gluten
3 TB oil
1/3 cup honey
500 mg. Vit. C (opt.)
1 3/4 cups water
 
Mix together and let rest 10 minutes.
Then add and mix for 8 minutes:
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2-3 cups more flour
 Let raise for 1 hour. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 min.
 

 
Whole Wheat Bread (5-loaf recipe for Bosch Mixer)
Recipe from Karol Smith
Combine the following ingredients:
7 cups wheat flour
2 TB yeast
2 TB wheat gluten
2/3 cup oil
2/3 cup honey
500-1000 mg Vit. C
5 1/2 cups water (original recipe calls for 6 1/2 cups)


Mix together and let rest for 10 minutes.
Then, add:
2 TB salt
6-8 cups flour
Mix for 8 minutes.
Let raise for 1 hour. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes.






100% Whole Wheat Bread
Recipe from Karina Van Orman
5 cups water
1/3 cup oil
2/3 cup honey
6 cups flour
1 TB salt
1/2 cup potato flakes
2 TB wheat gluten
2 TB yeast
4-6 cups flour
Mix water, oil and honey. Add 6 cups flour, salt, potato flakes and gluten. Then add yeast. Let rest 6-10 minutes. Add 4-6 cups flour. Mix for 5-6 minutes. Let rest 10 minutes. Shape into loaves. Let rise 1 hour. 
Bake at 350 degrees fro 30 minutes.
